This last painting was done my freshman year of college. I chose this one because it's of my nephew, and I believe a did a good job of making it actually look like him. I enjoy the challenge of doing people I know, because it pushes me to do better in my projects.

This painting is great. You show so much emotion and character. I love the contrast and shadows that you used. How log did it take you to paint it? You seem to have a great talent for drawing and painting the face.
Do you feel that you take more time on pieces of people you know because you're more worried of what they think of the end result? It really shows that you put a lot of time and interest in this painting and I think your nephew would be very happy to see such a great portrait of himself. Did you look at a picture of your nephew or were you able to get him to pose for you?
