This is my last project for culture. This concept is completely different from my original idea. I decided to do a piece on my culture as a small town girl compared to the culture of being in an artistic, contemporary environment. The first image represents my life as a simple, small town girl. I chose to do to on ply wood because it relates to my family. I wanted to draw a object on there that would represent a small town, so I chose a tick. The next image is the artistic world. It's on a smoother more industrial wood to represent the larger town. The circles are abstract versions of the tick, which represents me in an art world. The last is my life after this is over and mixing the first to parts of my culture together.

Ornamentation

This is my work for ornamentation. After critique I really fell short of what this class was about and my work came across as very naive. So I adjusted and I think now it's a little more interesting. I broke the glass. This was my first step in making it interesting, because it forces the audience to question it. Then I wrote, "How about now?" over the top to represent the frustration of what made it only a craft before and what makes it art now. I thought this was an interesting concept  so I decided to use this in the show. Because it goes against what I believe. So by doing that I felt very like a hypocrite. So I titled my work "Hypocrisy."
